Mugshots Emailed To Others – Criminal?

0

I have a high prophile individual with significant community and political ties. I have been the plaintiff in a civil law for 2 years with my partners in a business. One of the partners mother is a judge and is also a deputized peace officer. My partner convinced his agency to arrest me for felony theft. I my town the sheriff puts all mug shots on the web for the public. My partner has sent out my mug shot to hundreds maybe thousands of people. Is this a crime or a civil matter? your thoughts?

The posting of mugshots is a business that has sprung up that really hurts people.  For some people, who are serious criminals, I think it is a great idea.  However many, many people get caught in this that actually were found not guilty.  However, there mugshot is now all over the internet.

In your case, since that mugshot was public, may not be a lot you can do.  They key will be what was also said in the email (intent).   If this was done intentionally to defame you (and you can prove it with what was written), may have a civil action.
