Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites among young and old alike. It was launched in the year 2004 and is owned by Facebook, Inc. Facebook allows users to create their own profile where they can add other Facebook users as friends and even exchange messages. Businesses with a fan page can have the “Reviews” app installed on their page where customers can easily write their reviews.

 How the “Reviews” App Works

Receiving reviews on Facebook about your business is a good thing if all reviews are positive. It may become a nuisance, however, if you start to receive negative ones and then your only concern is to find out how you can remove reviews from Facebook. Negative reviews aren’t always a bad thing as it helps give you room to grow and improve your business but it does become a major concern if the negative review comes from a bogus customer. The “Reviews” application is always optional it is always up to you if you want it or not. Once a review is posted on the “Review Wall”, everyone can view it in the “Reviews” tab of your business fan page and the friends of the user who left the review will also be notified that he or she has left a review of your business. You can then reply to the review, ignore it, or simply delete it. Keep in mind, however, that even though the review will be removed from your page if you delete it, the friends of the user who left the review will still see it through the user’s feed.

 Deleting a Review

If you wish to remove reviews from Facebook, you can either delete the reviews individually or remove the entire “Reviews” page. To delete an individual review, just hover over the review with your mouse until the “x” appears in the upper right corner of the comment. Clicking it will then remove the review from your page. If you wish to remove the entire “Reviews” page from your fan page, click on “Edit Page” and select “Apps” on the list found on the left side. Under “Apps”, you can find “Reviews” and then “Edit Settings”. Clicking on “Edit Settings” will open a pop-up where you can simply click on the “Remove” option to delete the page.

 Dealing with Negative Reviews

It is always advisable to respond to bad reviews instead of deleting them. Make sure that you respond politely and in a timely manner to avoid further conflict. The “Reviews” page gives off the impression that you are welcome to any comment so make sure that you keep an open mind and a calm attitude. For negative reviews that you believe to be false, it is best to delete them as these are posted with malicious intentions that can ruin your business.
